esperienze con troff e groff?

      per diverso tempo ho cercato inutilmente di comporre “a griglia” con latex, per avere sia disponendo il testo in una sola colonnache in due o più, le righe di testo perfettamente allineate (idem per le note a pie’ di pagina).

      scoraggiato ormai anche dopo aver provato vari pacchetti tra cui grid (che pare funzionare ma introduce altri problemi), stavo pensando, per esigenze basilari (solo testo utf-8 e niente matematica o figure) di rivolgermi a troff o groff con le varie macro accessorie

      qualcheduno per caso ha già testato questi programmi e mi sa dire se effettivamente si può comporre testo “a griglia”?

          BASELINE GRID

          Within the page frame, mom establishes a f xed grid of baselines from the leading

          placing it off the grid, compensation is applied— before, after, or both— to ensure
          the next line of type falls on a valid baseline. Except in impossible situations, e.g.
          insuff cient room for a heading with at least one line of text underneath, this guar-
          antees that the page frame is properly f lled and that bottom margins are flush.10
          In the case of leading changed by the user for a passage of type mid-page, a
          return to the document default should be accompanied by the ‘ .SHIM’ macro.11
