MikTeX 2.96

Avevo già provato con TexLive, ma l’installazione non è andata a buon fine, probabilmente per le stesse ragioni

Ho scaricato un eseguibile da questa pagina https://www.tug.org/texlive/acquire-netinstall.html , dopodiché ha “scompattato” i vari file, quindi è uscita una finestra di dialogo per l’installazione guidata, ma il programma si è bloccato. Ho provato l’opzione per solo scompattare senza installare, ma nella cartella dove puntava non c’erano file eseguibili.

Liverpool” post=111672Per installare MiKTeX 2.9 serve Windows Xp sp3. E infatti il problema è legato proprio all’assenza del pacchetto cumulativo. Perché non vuoi/puoi installarlo?

Nel frattempo ho aggiornato l’OS al sp3. Ora non compare più il messaggio di errore sulla libreria kernel32, ma cmq non si installa.

Hai installato la versione base di MiKTeX? Se è così, non tutti i pacchetti sono inclusi nella distribuzione. Quelli che mancano li devi installare al volo (attivando la relativa opzione tra le impostazioni) oppure tramite il gestore dei pacchetti MiKTeX package manager.
Non credo sia un problema correlato alla versione della distribuzione. In ogni caso, subito dopo l’installazione della distribuzione ti conviene eseguire un aggiornamento tramite MiKTeX Update, per aggiornare quei pacchetti inclusi nella versione 2.8 che inevitabilmente oggi risultano obsoleti.
