    Questo è il documento

    \title{}
    \setcounter{chapter}{-1}
    \author{———}
    \begin{document}
    \renewcommand*\thesection{\arabic{section}}

    \maketitle
    \include{chapter0}
    \include{chapter1}
    \include{chapter2}
    \include{chapter3}

    \end{document}
    `

    Il file chapter0 è invece qualcosa di questo tipo
    `
    \chapter{Preliminari sui gruppi algebrici}
    \section{La nozione di gruppo algebrico}
    \begin{definition}…
    `

    Ebbene, se io aggiungo tra il comando \chapter e il successivo \section un’altro \section tipo
    \section{varietà algebriche}
    ottengo il seguente errore:
    `
    ERROR: Argument of \@firstofone has an extra }.

    — TeX said —

    \par
    l.2 \section{Varietà Algebriche}

    — HELP —
    From the .log file…

    I've run across a `}' that doesn't seem to match anything.
    For example, `\def\a#1{…}' and `\a}' would produce
    this error. If you simply proceed now, the `\par' that
    I've just inserted will cause me to report a runaway
    argument that might be the root of the problem. But if
    your `}' was spurious, just type `2' and it will go away.
    `

    Spero in qualche aiuto. Grazie in anticipo.

    Ho provato il tuo codice (senza i Minion Pro, che non ho):

    `\documentclass[a4paper,10pt,twoside,openright]{scrbook}
    \usepackage[english,italian]{babel}
    \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
    \makeatletter
    \@namedef{ver@fixltx2e.sty}{3000/01/01}
    \makeatother
    \usepackage{classicthesis-ldpkg}
    \usepackage{classicthesis}
    \usepackage{MnSymbol}
    \usepackage{amsmath}
    \areaset[5mm]{312pt}{660pt}
    \usepackage{amsthm}
    \usepackage[all]{xy}
    \newtheorem{theorem}{Teorema}[chapter]
    \newtheorem{lemma}[theorem]{Lemma}
    \newtheorem{proposition}[theorem]{Proposizione}
    \newtheorem*{lemman}{Lemma}
    \theoremstyle{definition}
    \newtheorem{definition}{Definizione}[chapter]
    \newtheorem{example}{Esempio}[chapter]
    \theoremstyle{remark}
    \newtheorem*{remark}{Remark}
    \usepackage{enumitem}
    \usepackage[pdftex]{graphicx}
    \numberwithin{equation}{chapter}
    \makeatletter
    \def\Ddots{\mathinner{\mkern1mu\raise\p@
    \vbox{\kern7\p@\hbox{.}}\mkern2mu
    \raise4\p@\hbox{.}\mkern2mu\raise7\p@\hbox{.}\mkern1mu}}
    \makeatother
    \title{}
    \setcounter{chapter}{-1}
    \author{———}
    \begin{document}
    \renewcommand*\thesection{\arabic{section}}

    \maketitle

    \include{chapter0}

    \end{document}`

    e

    `\chapter{Preliminari sui gruppi algebrici}

    \section{La nozione di gruppo algebrico}

    \section{Una sezione}

    \begin{definition}
    Una
    \end{definition}

    \section{Un'altra sezione}

    \begin{definition}
    Prova
    \end{definition}`

    per simulare un capitolo “chapter0” (al posto di \include ho provato anche \input, come consigliato sulle guide).

    Ottengo quattro warning, ma niente errori.

    Ciao,
    Antonio
