Problema con il nome dell’appendice (e fancyhdr)

Il problema di cui parlo si è presentato nelle testatine. Mi sono definito uno stile per con il pacchetto fancyhdr`\usepackage{fancyhdr}

\renewcommand{\chaptermark}[1]{\markboth{\chaptername \space \thechapter.\ \textit{#1}}{}}
\fancyfoot[C]{\thepage}
\fancyhead[LO,RE]{\footnotesize{\nouppercase{\leftmark}}}`Il semplice problema che ho è che i capitoli dell’appendice prendono, nella testatina, il \chaptername e dunque ottengo ad esempio

Naturalmente. Devi usare il comando \@chapapp invece di \chaptername. Il comando \appendix nella classe book ridefinisce \@chapapp come \appendixname, mentre normalmente esso vale \chaptername.`\usepackage{fancyhdr}
