[Font] Pacchetto Emerald

      Ciao, ho un problema ad usare i font del pacchetto emerald. Ho già visto quest’altro topic che sembra avere la soluzione al mio problema:

      ma non sono riuscito a risolvere. Finora ho fatto questo: ho scaricato il pacchetto da CTAN (http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/emerald/) e l’ho ristrutturato come suggerito nel topic sopra citato. Quindi ho messo tutto all’interno di ~/texmf che ora ha questa struttura:
      `daniele@daniele-laptop:~/texmf$ ls
      doc fonts ls-R other tex
      daniele@daniele-laptop:~/texmf$`
      Dentro ciascuna cartella c’è poi una cartella emerald con i file presi dall’archivio di CTAN. Infine ho lanciato:
      `daniele@daniele-laptop:~/texmf$ texhash ~/texmf
      texhash: Updating /home/daniele/texmf/ls-R…
      texhash: Done.
      daniele@daniele-laptop:~/texmf$ sudo updmap –enable Map=emerald.map`
      senza ricevere errori. Se però compilo il file .tex in cui uso il pacchetto emerald ottengo:
      `kpathsea: Running mktexmf fapmd8t

      Qualcuno mi sa aiutare? Ho sbagliato qualcosa?

          Qualcuno mi sa aiutare? Ho sbagliato qualcosa?

          Devi, prima di tutto, usare updmap-sys e non updmap. Adesso avrai qualche porcheria nella directory .texlive2008 (o qualcosa di simile, dipende dal sistema operativo).

          Il “qualcosa di simile” è la directory indicata dal seguente comando di shell:
          `kpsexpand \$TEXMFVAR`
          Il problema però è un altro: non hai installato i file metrici.

          Che c’è dentro /home/texmf/fonts?

          Che brutti quei font, però.

              Dentro a .texlive2008/texmf-var/ ci dovrebbero essere i file creati da updmap, Ne hai traccia nel log creato quando hai fatto girare il programma che dovrebbe stare in .texlive2008/texmf-var/web2c

              I file relativi ai font non devono andare dentro texmf/fonts/emerald, ma dentro sottocartelle secondo il seguente schema:

              afm -> texmf/fonts/afm/emerald
              map -> texmf/fonts/map/emerald
              …

              Il contenuto attuale della cartella texmf/emerald/afm va dunque in texmf/fonts/afm/emerald e così via per le altre.

                  E updmap-sys l’hai fatto andare?
                  `sudo updmap-sys –enable Map=emerald,map`
                  In realtà il posto migliore dove mettere tutta quella roba è l’albero locale, più che quello personale.

                    Che mi suggerisci di fare, sposto tutto nell’albero principale? Dove esattamente?

                      Albero locale, cioè la directory indicata da
                      `kpsexpand \$TEXMFLOCAL`
                      Che cosa ti dice
                      `grep fapmd8r `kpsewhich pdftex.map“
                      dato da shell?

                                  Evidentemente hai ancora robaccia in .texlive2008; il comando
                                  `kpsewhich pdftex.map`
                                  ti dovrebbe dire quale file viene trovato. Ma ti consiglio, prima di tutto, di trasferire tutto in TEXMFLOCAL (disabilitando prima emerald.map con updmap-sys).

                                  Oppure lascia perdere quei font, che sono bruttissimi. 🙂
