Come sospettavo: hai pasticciato con le installazioni. Dal riferimento a libpoppler deduco che quella che usi è la TeX Live 2007 installata con i pacchetti Debian. Cancella (o rinomina, se non vuoi correre rischi) quel file nella tua home.
