      Grazie dell’accurata spiegazione, ma vorrei evitare di usare Linux. Ho avuto una brutta esperienza, anche se ho imparato tantissimo dal suo uso. Per quello che sono passato a miktex. Magari devo rinunciare a qualcosa, ma in caso di problemi e di re-installazione è tutto più comodo. Scusa questa spiegazione brutalmente pragmatica (anche se Peirce l’avrebbe accettata, credo).

        Grazie della risposta articolata e precisa. In cosa ho sbagliato io? Se devo mettere mano, allora è meglio texlive che conosco da anni. Comunque, Miktex è aggiornato. Ho fatto l’aggiornamento e rinfrescato il data base e il sistema, quindi nei miei pensieri avrebbe dovuto aggiornare anche il file map che esiste al posto giusto. O meglio a quello parallelo a texlive in dvips e map (mi riferisco alla guida di Lehmann).

          Chiedo scusa. Non voglio offendere nessuno, ma nella guida di Miktex si parla e nell’installazione e nel segnalare la directory principale che avevo trovato. Questo se ho letto bene. Chiedo scusa se è il contrario.

              In ogni caso, continuo a scaricare font e il messaggio è sempre lo stesso font.sty not found, quando si vede che l’ha visto e la mappa è al punto giusto. Che fare?

                Grazie delle vostre risposte. È che mi sembra che la scelta di font sia scarsina. Non ho trovato neppure l’urw-garamond. Sono passato a miktex perché ogni tanto faccio casini e devo reinstallare l’OS. Volevo qualcosa di più sbrigativo di texlive, tenuto conto che l’installazione si è bloccata a 3 minuti dalla fine. È vero: potrei installare manualmente il font su miktex, ma sono stufo di fare un lavoro alla Sisifo. Per questo ho pensato a xelatex. Funziona bene, salvo nei nomi delle sections che non li fa in simoncini ma in un altro font. Mah… Ho anche iniziato a scrivere Schröder e non Schr\”oder.

                      Questo su Linux. Su Windows posso inserire una stringa a caso che non cambia niente. Né funziona il metodo di portare il cursore vicino ad un Elemento. Non succede nulla.

                      L’installazione non ha segnalato errori e ho installato e emacs zig volte.

                        Allora, ho provato ad installare emacs ad inserire in .emacs il tuo codice. Se digito M-x package-list-packages non mi trova i pacchetti di melpa. Se avvio emacs con emacs – e poi digito C-x C-e mi viene dato un messaggio di errore:

                                Lasciamo perdere il backup. Vorrei che texlive lavorasse dentro documents e non dentro la home. Quando apro il terminale, vorrei che lampeggiasse su documents e non su home. Lasciamo perdere il backup. Ho fatto male a nominarlo. Voglio solo cambiare percorso. Quando apro emacs, l’ho impostato che si aprisse nella home. Adesso vorrei che il terminale si aprisse su documents e poi cambio emacs in modo che si apra su documents.
