    Scusate ho un problema con la compilazione del seguente file con pdflatex:

    ——BEGIN——-
    \documentclass{article}
    \usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
    \usepackage[english]{babel}
    \usepackage{microtype}
    \usepackage{geometry}
    \usepackage[urw-garamond]{mathdesign}
    \usepackage[font={small,sf},margin=30pt,labelfont=bf,labelsep=period]{caption}

    \begin{document}
    just test testxt to see what happens,
    \begin{figure}
    \begin{center}
    test test test!!
    \end{center}
    \caption{tewtss afd sadfak sdv jk las tewtss afd $f(x)+g(x)= x^2+4$ sadfak sdv jk las tewtss afd sadfak sdv jk las tewtss afd sadfak sdv jk las tewtss afd sadfak sdv jk las}
    \label{nothing}
    \end{figure}

    \end{document}
    ——END——-

    Il file di log che ne risulta è il seguente:

    Qualcuno mi può aiutare a capire perchè non funziona? Io so solo che se disabilito microtype o caption, allora funziona perfettamente.

    Grazie mille,

        Ho provato a compilare il tuo documento, ma non riscontro alcun fatal error. Dei pacchetti che carichi, l’unico che non ho mai usato è mathdesign, li altri li uso regolarmente senza alcun problema. Ti consiglio di:
        1. controllare/aggiornare la tua distribuzione LaTeX;
        2. leggere la doc. di mathdesign per vedere se c’è qualche potenziale incompatibilità.

        Ciao,
        L.

        Ciao Lorenzo, grazie della risposta.
        Ho risolto il problema: non avevo installato i cm-super font, quindi pdflatex non trovava i file che gli servivano per fare il font sf nella caption.

        Ora il problema è questo: come faccio a fare in modo che anche il font in math mode sia sf nella caption? Riesci a ottenerlo in qualche modo?

        Grazie ancora,

        Carlo

          Non sono sicuro di aver capito bene che cosa vuoi fare. Vuoi che le didascalie siano sans serif e che il font matematico all’interno delle didascalie sia pure in sans serif? Non so se è possibile, né se è opportuno: magari sbaglio, ma che io sappia, il font matematico deve essere unico per tutto il documento.

          Ciao,
          L.

          Ciao,

          Si esattamente. è bruttissimo secondo me vedere il font garamond in math mode dentro alla caption in sans serif. Sai come fare?

            Proprio per evitare quel brutto effetto, farei così (se non sei costretto da specifiche imposte dall’alto):
            `\documentclass[a4paper]{article}

            \usepackage{microtype}

            \usepackage[format=hang,font=small,labelfont=bf]{caption} `
            In questo modo usi i font standard, che sono ottimi e si combinano bene insieme.

            Vedi, il rischio di “progettarsi un layout in proprio” è quello di ottenere un risultato esteticamente discutibile.

            Ciao,

            Proprio per evitare quel brutto effetto, farei così (se non sei costretto da specifiche imposte dall’alto):
            `\documentclass[a4paper]{article}

            \usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
            \usepackage{microtype}
            \usepackage{amsfonts}
            \usepackage[format=hang,font=small,labelfont=bf]{caption} `
            In questo modo usi i font standard, che sono ottimi e si combinano bene insieme.

            Ciao,
            L.

            Certo è bello come dici. Solo mi piaceva avere le caption con un font distinto dal corpo. Hai idee su come posso fare quello che ti dicevo quindi? Non so perchè ma mi suona di terribilmente complicato…

            Carlo
