l’indice analitico non mi funziona più 🙁

Salve a tutti,
ho un problema con l’indice analitico.
Sto scrivendo una dispensa per i miei allievi. Utilizzo Classic Thesis con ArsClassica, sia su un computer windows 7 ultimate (TeXlive 2012 aggiornata) che su un Mac, OX Lion (MacTex 2012 aggiornata).
Dopo l’aggiornamento odierno, sulla macchina windows, provando a compilare con pdfLatex, compare il seguente errore:

Mi sembra di capire che riguardi il file *.ind che serve per generare l’indice analitico.
Il file non è stato cambiato (precedentemente funzionava a dovere), ne è stato cambiato il codice del file principale.

Ecco un esempio minimo compilabile, che riproduce l’errore appena lancia makeindex:

E' cambiato qualcosa con gli ultimi aggiornamenti? Con "texdoc makeidx" non ottengo una guida aggiornata... Spero di essere stato chiaro, saluti a tutti. PS: il problema persiste sia che utilizzi un file di stile (classic.ist) per avere le lettere maiuscole che scandiscono la suddivisione dell'indice (A... B... C...) sia che non lo utilizzi.
