problemi con simoncini garamond

      Salve. Io ho appena installato il font Simoncini Garamond secondo la procedura di Warsaw in questo forum. Praticamente, l’ho installato nel font book di Mac OS X e l’ho richiamato nel testo sorgente. Purtroppo, non funziona. E alla fine del .log mi trovo questo:

          1) che font stai usando? opentype? truetype?
          2) posta un esempio minimo di codice

            Salve. Io ho appena installato il font Simoncini Garamond secondo la procedura di Warsaw in questo forum.

            Sei sicuro di avere instalato correttamente il font nel Font Book? Dai warnings che posti sembra che il font che hai installato sia Type1. Se è così prova a usarli in un’altra applicazione, ad esempio Textedit. Da quello che ho trovato in rete, per installare un font Type1 su mac serve una conversione. Vedi qui qui qui e qui .
            La cosa più semplice sarebbe procurarsi il font Simoncini Garamond in formato Opentype; in alternativa potresti installare in LaTeX il font type1. Cerca la “Fonts Installation Guide” e la guida di Zannarini e Vavassori. Ti avverto però che la procedura non è semplicissima.
            Ora che mi hai incuriosito proverò con calma a installare un font type1. Se ci riesco mi farò sentire.

              Si tratta di un font opentype. In un testo di prova ha funzionato. In questo, no. Ho provato ad installare questo font su ubuntu 8.10 e un file di prova funziona. Mi piacerebbe sapere come usarli in latex, senza ricorrere a xelatex.

                Se hai il font Opentype usa XeLaTeX. Con TeXShop è semplicissimo. Se non vuoi usare XeLaTeX devi procurarti il font type1 e installarlo seguendo le guide che ti ho indicato nel precedente post.
                In entrambi i casi, se dovrai inserire delle formule ti consiglio il pacchetto mathdesign che fornisce simboli matematici che si adattano bene alla famiglia Garamond.
                La prossima volta invia anche un codice minimale altrimenti è difficile capire da dove vengono gli errori…
