Direi che il significato di new command dovrebbe essere evidente: definisci un nuovo comando; quello di renew command altrettanto evidente ridefinisci un comando.

Dove devo sostituire \newcommand con \renewcommand?

“tesi.tex” faceva riferimento a “original.cls” che era il file class che avevo modificato. Stamattina ho eliminato questo file e ho ripreso il file class senza modifiche “aaltothesis.cls” che trova al link che le ho inviato prima.
