Salve. Vi allego il log di mpm della mia distribuzione miktex. Non riesco a risolvere il problema. Mi dice che devo disinstallare e reinstallare metapost e amscls-doc. L’ho fatto dalla console. Niente da fare. Ho provato a faro con mpm. Incontra degli errori. Fra l’altro mi richiede di installare miktex-doc-2.9 che non riesco a trovare e tools. Anche questo introvabile. Cosa posso fare?

Su questo pc assolutamente strano non c’è modo di installare il latex in maniera corretta. Eppure il negoziante non ha installato niente, neppure l’antivirus. Solo office 2019.

  L’unica cosa che riesco a suggerirti è quella di inviare il log che hai inviato qui, a Scharrer.
  
  Un’altra cosa, contraria ai miei principi, qui la dico e qui la nego, potrebbe essere quella di installare solo la versione di base e di aggiungere via via con il Wizard solo i pacchetti che via via ti mancano; potrebbe funzionare se scaricando l’installazione hai scaricato anche i file .cab che Scharrer usa invece dei file .zip.

  E se provassi a usare TeX Live 2021 all’interno della WSL?
  La WLS è un modulo Windows che comprende un kernel Linux e un ambiente Ubuntu. L’acronimo sta per Windows Subsystem for Linux .
  Una volta attivata la WSL (che in questi ultimi anni è stata ulteriormente sviluppata da Microsoft) apri un terminale e installi la TeX Live per Linux con procedura net-install.
  
  Certo non è comodo. Per compilare con pdfLaTeX o LuaLaTeX, è necessario gestire una directory di condivisione tra Windows e WSL, spostandovi i file sorgenti, ma ti permetterebbe di fare dei test con gli eseguibili per Linux. Se funziona, significa che l’incompatibilità è relegata al sistema Windows + eseguibilli TeX.
  Si tratta solo di un’idea.
  Se te la senti, potresti ottenere dalla via WSLqualche informazione in più sul tuo particolare problema (si parte da qui https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/ ).
  Ho utilizzato MikTeX solamente all’inizio, molti anni fa. Inoltre, non mi sono mai capitati nella mia esperienza con diversi sistemi operativi, problemi di sistema come quelli che lamenti tu, con gli eseguibili TeX.

  Anzitutto, grazie. Avevo installato Ubuntu in Windows tempo fa, ma, secondo me, è un problema di pc. Non sono riuscito ad installare texlive 2020 dopo vari tentativi. Allora ho provato con miktex dal dvd collection. Niente da fare. Ho scaricato miktex nella versione completa, niente. Ho provato a scaricare la versione base, niente da fare. Io non sono riuscito ad installare il latex sul PC. Mi sono rivolto al negoziante, il quale, pur non avendo mai sentito il latex, sembrava un guru. Gli ho reso il pc. Dopo un po’ di tempo, me lo reinvia con miktex installato. Sembrava funzionare, ma non ho mai capito come avesse fatto. Intanto, mi ero acquistato un pc rigenerato che funziona alla perfezione. Uso questo PC come televisore. Pensavo di poter usare il latex all’occorrenza, ma mi sbagliavo.
  
  Sono troppo triste e amareggiato. In quanto a Schenk, non mi risponderà mai. Sono un numero per lui. Ma non poter usare metapost mi sembra grave.

  In qualche modo ho risolto per metapost. Rimane il problema della documentazione. Già appena uscita avevo provato Ubuntu in Windows, ma non mi è piaciuto. Preferì il dual boot. In ogni caso, niente mi assicura che il latex si installerà. Ho un altro pc, rigenerato, su cui non ho problemi ad installare il latex ed uno più vecchio su cui c’è texlive 2020. Se ho voglia, l’aggiorno. È possibile farlo senza disinstallare texlive2020 ed installare al suo posto texlive2021?

  Se hai abbastanza spazio nel disco fisso, lo puoi fare econ tkmgr puoi specificaare quale dei due vuoi usare.

  Molto spazio, purtroppo no. Io usavo sempre il dvd collection perché da noi internet non è veloce e salta spesso.
  
  Riguardo a miktex, mi ha risposto Schenk dicendo che amscls-doc è un pacchetto obsoleto. Non lo nego, ma non sono stato io ad installarlo. Lo ha installato di suo il programma. Riguardo a metapost, ha detto che ci lavorerà. In ogni caso, oggi miktex ha disinstallato amscls-doc e metapost, lasciandomi con miktex-metapost. Colgo anche l’occasione per dirvi, se vi interessa, che la Dante e.V. ha in programma una nuova edizione del testo su luatex (l’unico che io conosca), però non sanno quando.

  Qualcuno mi ha suggerito di installare in pace windows 10. Non è che perdo poi miktex?
