La Font INstallation Guide che ho reperito, dal CTAN ad altri siti,
è la versione December 2004 · Revision 2.14
Non è un po’ vecchia? O non sono riuscito a trovare
una versione più aggiornata? O è un evergreen?

Ho provato quell’operazione conFontForge.
Tuttavia mi spunta un avvertimento:

Che gli devo dire? O c’è qualche ulteriore opzione

Mi piacerebbe capire come procedere
per costruire gli altri file che servono.

PerchP ho ceracto con Google cose del tipo
“from otf to font” e variazioni libera,
ma non mi pare di aver trovato cose

::Non puoi ottenere il finto maiuscoletto con XeLaTeX, ma puoi con LaTeX normale. Devi però seguire le istruzioni della “fontinstallationguide”. Sad Ma ti mando un archivio zip con le cose necessarie.
Anche a me piace molto il SGaramond, per via
del corsivo non troppo “stretto” come invece nell’AGaramond.
Ma questo archivio si può scaricare da qualche parte
o è una delle consuete meraviglie private di Enrico?M.

il set di font per la scalatura, volevo comunque sapere

Non so cosa intendi per “confondere”. Semplicemente,
chiedevo, posto che ho messo `\renewcommand{\ttdefault}{fvm}`
come rendere di default fvm nella dimensione footnotesize.
Al momento, grazie alla tua segnalazione, ho rislto in questo modo:
`\DeclareTextFontCommand{\mytt}{\ttfamily\footnotesize}`
per cui non uso \texttt e simili ma mytt
È la soluzione buona?Poi ho un altro problema sulla scalatura dei font,

Finalmente!
Fra errori e sviste mi stava venendo l’esaurimento…
Adesso è quasi tutto chiaro.Mi manca solo una cosa:
Se uso helvet, posso scrivere
\usepackage{helvet}
e ho il carattere non scalato,
oppure
\usepackage[scaled]{helvet}
e ho il carattere scalato di default,
oppure ancora posso inserire una misura di scalatura a piacere.Invece per come stanno adesso le cose,
nel caso di Myriad devo obbligatoriamente usare
\usepackage[scaled]{myriad}
perché se ometto l’opzione [scaled] ricevo errore:
