      [tt]chemfig[/tt] è il miglior pacchetto per disegnare molecole: ha una sintassi facile e virtualmente puoi disegnare di tutto (con un po’ di pazienza e la giusta conoscenza di TiKz). La pecca più grossa è che rallenta la compilazione in modo consistente. Se devi aggiungere molte molecole (come io in certi appunti di organica che mi sono ricopiato) e disegni, prendi in considerazione se farli a parte e poi importarli come immagini pdf. Discreto anche per fare reazioni tra molecole. Se poi leggi le documentzazioni degli altri pacchetti, puoi notare che viene sempre impiegato. Io lo affiancherei con [tt]mhchem[/tt] che ti permette di disegnare velocemente qualsiasi formula bruta e reazione semplicemente scrivendo i numeri o comandi opportuni (per esempio \ce{C6H12O6 + 6O2 -> 6CO2 + 6H2O} ti restituisce i numeri correttamente a pedice o come coefficienti stechiometrici con la freccia disegnata) e se ricordo bene ti permette di usare un ambiente che numera le reazioni.

      [tt]mychemistry[/tt] non lo mai utilizzato, ma i pacchetti sopra fanno già buona parte di ciò che ti serve. Ho dato una lettura veloce al manuale e sembra faccia poco di più di [tt]chemfig[/tt] ad una prima occhiata.

      Ti aggiungo un altro pacchetto che sto provando: [tt]chemmacros[/tt] ti offre una variegata quantità di macro (anche troppe forse), magari dai un’occhiata al manuale. Simile come funzionamento a [tt]mhchem[/tt], ne amplia le macro, permettendo un gran numero di personalizzazioni, a scapito però dei tempi di compilazione.

        @OldClaudio        : Tranquillo, era solo una battuta di autoironia ;D

        Comunque la questione è divertente perché sul mio Ubuntu ho installato la distribuzione TeXlive 2013, seguendo proprio la guida di Enrico 😀 Ma, grazie al manuale che mi hai citato, quello di texlive reperibile al solito modo, ho trovato il sottosottoparagrafo 3.4.4, che parla proprio di XeTeX e dei suoi font. Copiando il file [tt]PERCORSO TEXLIVE/texmf-var/fonts/conf/textlive-fontconfig.conf[/tt] nel file [tt]/etc/fonts/conf.d/09-texlive.conf[/tt] e aggiornando la cash con [tt]fc-cache -fsv[/tt] (tutto fatto come super user si intende), sembra che ora XeLaTeX riconosca anche i font di TeXlive.

        Vi ringrazio tutti per i vostri consigli e le vostre osservazioni. 8)

          Dove pensi che abbia preso il comando per caricare direttamente i nomi dei file? 😉 Comunque sulla guida di fontspec c’è un TODO in una sezione in cui scrivono che in futuro aggiungeranno anche come rintracciare i nomi delle famiglie, ma nient’altro. Probabilmente hai ragione, la mia distribuzione è bacata (magari ha preso dal proprietario, chissà :D), ma come posso sistemarla? L’unica cosa che mi viene in mente è aspettare la nuova versione di TeXlive (che verrà rilasciata tra non molto).

            Uso TeXlive 2013 aggiornato l’ultima volta a settembre. Ho provato ad aggiornare la cache con un comando trovato su google [tt]sudo fc-cache -fv[/tt]. Appena ha finito ho ridato la compilazione, ma l’errore è stato il solito (prima non lo postato, scusate)

              Niente da fare 🙁 Mi dice che non esiste Latin Modern Roman, ma lo sapevo già, è uno dei primi che ho provato. Appena ho un po’ di tempo provo a scaricarlo dal sito LaTeX Font Catalougue e vedo se riesco a farlo funzionare. Grazie a tutti per il vostro supporto.

                Se carico i font .otf, XeLaTeX li utilizza tranquillamente. Se provo invece anche solo Latin Modern Roman mi dice che non esiste. Ma questo font deve esserci, dato che lo usa tranquillamente senza alcun errore se non carico niente e io lo usavo già prima con pdfLaTex. Esiste un comando o un file che elenchi i nomi dei font (un po’ come il comando qui sopra fa con i font del mio sistema)?

                  Non lo so, non funziona il codice di @Doc, ne specificare le default font options. Ora provo ad aggiornare il sistema (perché l’ultima volta è stato a settembre) e vedo se cambia qualcosa.

                    Grazie @Doc, funziona. Devo conseguirne che gran parte dei font che leggo in giro non sono installati sul mio sistema (o non sono accessibili a LaTeX). Posso abusare della tua pazienza e chiederti come ottenere lo stesso risultato con Latin Modern? Devo necessariamente caricarli con \setmainfont? Perché ci provo ma non trova il Latin Modern (probabilmente sbaglio nome).

                      I nuovi motori XeLaTeX e LuaTeX non usano [tt]babel[/tt], [tt]inputenc[/tt] e [tt]fontenc[/tt]. Sostituisci le chiamate a questi tre pacchetti con
                      `
                      \usepackage{fontspec}
                      \usepackage{polyglossia}
                      \setdefaultlanguage{italian}
                      `
                      e compila con LuaTeX. Se vuoi ricompilare con pdfLaTex devi logicamente riscrivere i soliti pacchetti che prima hai rimosso. 😉 Essi implementano una migliore gestione dei font grazie proprio al pacchetto [tt]fontspec[/tt] che permette di caricare qualsiasi fonto OpenType presente sul tuo sistema (per il come ti rimando alla guida introxelatex di Enrico).

                        Stai utilizzando un ambiente flottante: questa particolare tipologia di ambienti (figure e table) hanno la proprietà di essere posizionati da LaTeX dove meglio “crede”. Di solito si specificano delle posizioni che Latex si sforza di seguire se possibile nel seguente modo
                        `
                        \begin{table}[htp]
                        ….
                        `
                        Lo so che alcuni comportamenti possono sembrare strani all’inizio :grin:, ma avvengono perché latex segue specifiche regole tipografiche per produrre testi di alta qualità.

                        Il mio consiglio è di leggere una qualsiasi guida di base (scarica da questo sito nella sezione documentazione “L’Arte di scrivere con latex”) per comprendere non solo i comandi necessari, ma anche la mentalità alla base di latex. Buona lettura e buon LaTeX 😆

                            Se togli l’opzione [tt]eulermath[/tt] i pedici sono nuovamente centrati, quindi è un problema legato al tipo di font. Sembra ad occhio (correggetemi pure se sbaglio) che la centratura sia fatta rispetto il carattere inclinato normale e non rispetto al nuovo font [tt]Euler[/tt]. Sembra che il comando [tt]\limits[/tt] non funzioni bene con questo tipo di font.

                            La spaziatura manuale andrebbe bene se tu avessi un singolo integrale, Ma trattandosi una tesi di fisica è impensabile, dato che userai certamente un gran numero di formule. Se provi il font matematico di default o quello di LatinModern la centratura è perfetta. Mi spiace o cambi font o aspetti qualcuno che sappia come sistemarti le cose 🙁

                            PS: Il tuo codice mi dà un warning, legato al fatto che non si possono usare le impostazioni [tt]floatperchapter[/tt] e [tt]nochapter[/tt] insieme perché l’ultima opzione esclude automaticamente la prima. Ti tocca togliere anche [tt]floatperchapter[/tt].

                              In attesa del Documento minimo compilabile, ti do un consiglio: non usare latex e poi una conversione se vuoi ottenere un pdf. Questo perché durante la conversione da dvi a pdf si perde in qualità di immagini e potrebbe darti dei problemi. Piuttosto compila direttamente con [tt]pdflatex[/tt].

                              Inoltre non apporre le estensioni dei file immagini, non servono: latex è in grado (da un po’ di anni) di riconoscere automaticamente l’estensione dell’immagine e apporla al nome del file.

                              Sul fatto che il pc fisso non compila, può darsi che sul portatile tu abbia una versione completa e sul pc una minimale o comunque parziale. Sono installati su entrambi gli stessi pacchetti (o meglio una versione completa)?

                                Potresti definirti un nuovo contatore nel preambolo così

                                Successivamente questo codice

                                \setcounter{page}{\themiapagina}

                                che semplicemente salva nel tuo contatore personale il valore dell’ultima pagina e lo reimposta una volta impostati i numeri romani. Sinceramente non so se sia una pratica consigliabile (dato che non viene fornita di default dal comando [tt]\backmatter[/tt]).

                                Probabilmente esiste qualche modo più elegante per farlo, ma dovrai aspettare qualcuno più esperto di me ;).

                                  Tengo solo a fare una precisazione: il modo di definire il differenziale c’è sulla guida GuIT, ma non è nel capitolo sui nuovi comandi, ma dove dovrebbe essere, in una apposito sottoparagrafo nel capitolo dedicato alla matematica. Grazie ancora per la segnalazione.
