Per me le cose stanno così.Il pacchetto hieroglf, di Peter Wilson, è una riduzione del pacchetto HieroTeX di Serge Rosmorduc. Quest’ultimo non è di facile uso, perché richiede l’installazione di font ad hoc, mentre hieroglf è di uso immediato.
Wilson, però, non ha messo nel suo pacchetto il simbolo F32, ma per me ha sbagliato, visto che è fondamentale: i geroglifici sono circa settemila, d’accordo, ma quel carattere è uno dei 24 principali (i simboli cui corrisponde un solo suono).

A questo punto mi va bene anche una soluzione “spiccia e sporca” per inserirlo. Messo come sono ora, non mi resta che includerlo come immagine. 🙁

Mi piace come esponi gli argomenti. Secondo me, se hai ancora i sorgenti potresti produrre un buon output pdf almeno delle parti generali non soggette a obsolescenza.Sottoscrivo.

Adotterei qualche espediente grafico per distinguere le conoscenza a livello “impaziemte”, quelle a livello “arte” e quelle a livello “latexpedia”. Con tcolorbox si puo fare facilmente. Così non si hanno sovrapposizioni ed è piu semplice laggiormamemto. A livello utente non è un gran problema avere un unico file. Anzi.
Alcune considerazioni al volo.
1. Spesso mi capita di dover cercare qualcosa che non ricordo. Scrivendo LaTeXpedia, mi sono stupito di aprire con frequenza l’Arte. Perché non LaTeXpedia, visto che contiene tutta l’Arte? Perché è più comodo cercare qualcosa in un documento di 150 pagine che di 400. Ecco perché tengo distinti LaTeXpedia, l’Arte e l’Impaziente.
2. Il progetto originario di Lapo (una LaTeXedia scritta da tanti utenti in modo cooperativo, sul modello di Wikipedia) non poteva funzionare (e infatti non ha funzionato). Sto scrivendo un nuovo capitolo di LaTeXpedia: l’argomento non è difficile, ma è vastissimo. Occorre fare una sintesi di centinaia (se non migliaia) di pagine disponibili in Rete. Questa sintesi non la può fare un gruppo di persone: la può fare una persona sola (due al massimo). Un gruppo di persone che lavorasse a un capitolo come quello che sto scrivendo non ne verrebbe a capo: le energie per coordinarsi crescono esponenzialmente con il numero di persone coinvolte.
3. Sono di parte, lo so, ma la sezione “Documentazione” del sito del GuIT non mi convince: dà enorme rilievo a cose secondarie, e non dà rilievo a cose (più) importanti. Sarebbe ora che qualcuno ci mettesse le mani: pur così importante, dà l’idea di una sezione del sito appena abbozzata e lasciata a se stessa…

In generale, sconsiglio sempre di andare a capo con \\ e di non lasciare una riga vuota prima e dopo un ambiente (wrap)figure. Di sicuro, se hai ottenuto quello che volevi, bene così: ma dev’essere chiaro (non a te, ma a chi dovesse imbattersi in futuro in queste righe), che è una soluzione “spiccia e sporca” da usare con attenzione.

Ho le mie riserve sul fatto che una formula scritta in maiuscolo sia più comprensibile di una scritta in minuscolo. In ogni caso, se anche fosse, non si può sempre fare come dice Claudio: “V” indica il volume, “v” la velocità; “T” la temperatura, “t” il tempo. Eccetera.Quando al testo di una verifica (formule escluse), alcuni consigliano per i DSA di usare un corpo grande (14 punti, per esempio), un font sans serif e di evitare documenti scritti su più colonne.

Ottimo. Quindi nell’Arte non devo correggere niente: amssymb carica amfonts “più dell’altra buona roba”, quindi viva amssymb.

Sono cambiate le cose?
Da una lettura veloce delle rispettive documentazioni, noto che amssymb carica amsfonts, ma amsfonts non carica amssymb. Quindi caricando amssymb si ha “accesso a più roba” che non caricando solamente amsfonts. Mi sbaglio?
Nelle mie guide, quando spiego la matematica, dico:
Di qui in avanti si danno per caricati i pacchetti amsmath e amssymb.
Di amsfonts non faccio menzione. Però poi se il lettore cerca su CTAN amssymb non lo trova, mentre trova amsfonts.
Sono perplesso.

Mi permetto di intromettermi, seppur a distanza di mesi dall’ultimo post: personalmente concordo con chi sostiene che un testo maiuscolo sia fastidioso e poco utile in termini di leggibilità (e mi accodo di fatto a giudizi di persone ben più quotate di me).
E’ anche vero però che non sempre chi si discosta dall’ARTE sta commettendo un sacrilegio: io sono un’insegnante, e preparo verifiche di mate e fisica in latex. Ho svariati studenti DSA che affermano di leggere meglio il maiuscolo, e tra i consigli degli specialisti che hanno diagnosticato loro tali disturbi vi è spesso proprio quello di usare il maiuscoletto, che è effettivamente PER LORO più leggibile.
Ergo, le copie per tali studenti le faccio appositamente in maiuscolo. Sarà inelegante, sarà per me e per voi illeggibile, fastidioso eccetera…ma non siamo tutti uguali a ‘sto mondo 🙂Chiudo questa mia (che non voleva assolutamente essere polemica) con un ulteriore ringraziamento: siete sempre disponibili a dare una mano! Se per con “ARTE” intendi l’Arte di scrivere con LaTeX o l’arte della composizione tipografia tout court, ti invito a rileggere meglio la prima e a studiare meglio la seconda.
Nessuno qui ce l’ha col maiuscolo.
Lo usiamo tutti, regolarmente.
Quello che proprio non va (roba da far rivoltare nella tomba Manuzio e Bodoni) è scrivere un lungo testo in maiuscolo (o in sans serif). Il maiuscolo va benissimo per testi brevi o brevissimi. Per esempio, le testatine delle classi standard sono in maiuscoletto (inclinato). I titoli di ClassicThesis e di ArsClassica sono in maiuscoletto spaziato.
Una verifica di matematica o di fisica tutta in maiuscolo? Perché no, se gli alunni, magari con disturbi specifici dell’apprendimento, la trovano più leggibile!

La figura viene prodotta abbastanza bene, ma dalla pagina successiva il testo si dispone in una sola colonna e continua così per le pagine successive.A volte wrapfig lo fa. 🙁
Di solito succede quando il testo che circonda la wrapfig non è “semplice testo” (per esempio perché contiene elenchi, titoli di sezione, codici o formule a tutta pagina, ….).
Fai una prova, avvolgi con una coperta calda di “parole parole parole…” la tua wrapfig: vedrai che va tutto a posto.
